Done! The tower's finished and I'm quite content with the outcome. The rust effect on the top will dissolve a little bit once the matt varnish is applied.

I think I'm in a terrain building flow
The ideas keep coming to my mind and I'm happily building and realizing them. Here's a preview of my current piece of terrain.
It's a high tower (for whatever purpose) and atop of it a renegade with a mortar took a stand but got killed by a sniper:

Like I said, I plan on doing a tank wreck for my gaming board and it'll of course be a IF Rhino. This morning I painted the tank's former driver:

First terrain pieces finished
I've painted the first terrain pieces for my "Terra Torn Asunder" themed gaming board: 4 of GW's craters
I decorated them with some sand, plastic card, a dead Iron Warrior (poor mate!) and some other stuff.

New gaming table for private purpose only
I already own a gaming table with a good deal of terrain pieces but as I made it available for use on various tournaments of our club so far it is in a rather bad condition. Many people simply don't appreciate the work invested in building and painting good looking terrain and thus treat it badly.
I decided to "donate" the gaming board inclusive the terrain to our club and build a new one for private purpose only, i.e. when I play with friends at my place. It will be the best looking terrain I've built so far and will match my Lost and the Damned and Iron Warriors relating to base design, details and gimmicks.
I guess it's already more than 1.5 years ago when I saw a nice tutorial on the web on how to build Czech hedgehogs. I liked it a lot and therefore built some of my own:
They will be adorned with some barbed wire I make of locking wire:
For the center of the board I plan on building a 3 to 4 stories high bombed tenement block. The ground floor's windows will be boarded up so it serves as a line of sight blocker. Around this I'll build four to five 2-3 stories high buildings. The "streets" and outskrits will be filled by the Czech hedgehogs mentioned above, craters, tank wrecks, piles of rubble and debris, oil barrels etc. I'm really looking forward to this project for my semester break.

Ogryn Berserkers (practically) finished
I have a rather crappy pic of my 4 freshly painted Ogryn Berserkers for you today. They are practically finished as I still have to redo some details, add some mud to their jackboots etc.
But as I had nearly no time to paint these last two days and I need them for a tournament tomorrow I have to be content with their current state. I'll show you some better pics soon.

Renegade Ogryns WIP
Although I could not use all the bitz I intended to work with I present you the 4 Renegade Ogryns I built and primed today:
I'll watch the Lord of the Rings - The Fellowship now and tomorrow I'm going to visit mad matt. :)

Renegades ready for first blood
I've spent all afternoon and parts of the evening to finish the 7 Renegades w/ Plasma guns. Thus all Renegades I need for the army list I'l be playing tomorrow at the tournament are finished. Was quite an exhausting painting marathon.
And before I pack them into their transport bag and case I took a photo of the gathered band:

Painting with pals
Today I met up with Klatschi to spend the afternoon and evening painting together. He worked on a Plague Hulk for his customer and I painted another 3 Renegades.
Luckily, the awaited shipment from mad matt with some very important bitz arrived today. So I'll be able to assemble and paint the 7 Renegades with Plasma guns I'll need for Saturday's tournament in Bayreuth - where my new Renegades will debut - tomorrow. I'm really keen on seeing how they look on the battlefield. ;-)
I'm going to visit mad matt next Tuesday to paint, chat, play and take some pics of my Iron Warriors and Renegades. I'm very much looking forward to that. For me there's a great advantage in painting together as I'm motivated to stick to the models for a longer span of time compared to painting on my own. I'm sure it'll be great!
(Sorry for the bad pic but it was taken with my mobile phone's cam.)

10 new Renegades
Here are the next 10 finished Renegades of which one carries a standard which has no additional effects in game. I just wanted to have some space for a freehand. ;-)

Many more Renegades
I adjusted the Astropath and the Officer of the Fleet this evening by redoing their bases and repainting the Astropath's trousers and gasmask:
And here's what I built today:
Standard bearer (torso is not glued yet):
3 Meltaguns:
3 Grenade launchers:
And another 4 Shotguns so I've a total of 6:
The tank commanders of my Hellhound and Command Chimera got some new paint, too:

A new place for my Iron Warriors
Don't panic, I haven't and won't sell my Iron Warriors as the title of this post might have suggested to you.
Yesterday evening, I noticed by chance that a friend of a friend of mine wanted to sell a glass cabinet with a lamp for very little money. I asked for the measure of the cabinet at once and after checking if the cabinet would fit into my room, I knocked down.
The gem is 64cm broad, 33cm deep and 168cm tall and costed only 20 EUR which is really cheap for such a huge cabinet. At IKEA or other stores you'd have to pay much more for less.
I just finished placing my Iron Warriors in it, here you go:

Thank you, Forge World! / Some more Renegades
Earlier this day, the postman rang at my door and handed me a parcel from Nottingham. I ordered on February 1st and today I received it. That means I can start clearing the 40 Renegade torsos this afternoon and prime them before I'll leave to visit my parents for 2 weeks. That's some good prospect for playing the 2000 pts. tournament in Landshut on February 25th with my new Renegades infantry.
And yesterday I finished those 4 guys:
What still needs to be painted:
- 7x Plasmagun
- 3x Meltagun
- 3x Grenade launcher
- 6x Shotgun

Renegades Shotgun 2.0 Prototype
I slightly converted the standard Imperial Lasgun to get a Shotgun. By adding some ammunition to the casing it is easily recognized as one I think:
Vendetta bases finished
Yesterday evening and today morning I worked on the bases of my 3 Vendettas as I wanted to re-do them so they'd match the other new bases of my Renegades 2.0.
Here's what I made of them:
The razor wire will still get some pigments because it looks too new at the moment. But I want it to look like an abandonned former front line.
The disembowelled corpse with the knife in its belly might have been a civilian on the run or even a deserter who got caught by the renegades and after they gave him a beating up to get some information out of him, they ditched him.

Furry Penal Legionnaires - Part III
The exam in Linguistics is finally written and over. So I had some time to paint and I finished the Furry Penal Legionnaires. As those models have plenty of details, it took me longer than I'd expected.

Big Renegades Project 2012 - Part III
As one can't study all day long for exams, I used the afternoon to be somewhat productive.
Do you recognize these pals?
Right! They used to be the Scouts for my Iron Warriors:
Apart from the missile launcher guy I took them from my cupboard and painted them in my new Renegades color scheme. Fits them quite well I'd say.
Furthermore, I converted the planned close combat Scouts to some more Renegades:
The Renegade you cold see on the first Furry Penal Legionnaires update was pimped with some more bitz and he'll serve as my Company Commander later on. Left to him you can see another CC Scout who'll serve as my 5th Sergeant once he go his new paint:

The cows got some more bitz so they'd fit the SciFi setting better: Las- and Bolt pistols, Lasguns, bionic arms, chainswords and picks

Furry Penal Legionnaires
I was just rummaging through one of my bitz boxes when I found some Gors. I bought them a long time ago when I planned on doing some Bloodgors from the last Siege of Vraks book.
Now I drafted them as Penal Legionnaires as the "Desperadoes" rule pretty well represents the capricious temper of these brutes.
