Shadowsword... again!

Finally a new post with yet another commission work from me. This time it's something quite special, as I was asked to paint a Shadowsword in nearly the same manner I painted my own one back then when I still had my Defenders of Vraks: http://brushandminiaturetorture.blogspot.de/2012/05/for-sale-renegades-shadowsword.html

I sold mine for some nice sum on ebay where an admirer of my minis from Mexico purchased it.

Some more Custom Dice

I ordered a second time some Custom Dice at Chessex for me and two pals. I afforded 26 of these:

I also can use them for my Renegades. That should be enough devotion for the dice god.

My mates afforded 26 with the Thousand Sons and 26 with the Iron Hands symbol.

A look into my display cabinets - Renegades and Iron Warriors

As I had my camera at hand, I decided to take two photos: one of my Renegades and one of my Iron Warriors, both standing in their display cabinets.

The one for the IW is quite small and maybe I'll buy another one (this one was a "gift" from my dad when he mucked out his bureau) which will be slightly larger. And I must put it on the other side of my wardrobe for more daylight. But I'm quite limited in space as I live in halls.

Renegades vs. Necrons - A game report by KalTorak

As I told you before, I played two games today and one of them with my Renegades versus the Necrons of KalTorak.

We played 1'500 pts. per side and KalTorak took some pics and wrote a report (in German) which I won't keep back from you. Here you are:

Imperiale Armee: HQ mit 4 Melter in Chimäre, 6 Psyker in Chimäre, 10 Veteranen mit 3 Plasmawerfer und Laserkanone, 2x Veteranen mit Melter in Chimäre, 2 Vendettas, Plasmapanzer, Medusa, 2 Hydras

Gespielt wurde Gebiet Sichern (2 Marker), Aufstellungsart war Speerspitze

Die Imperiale Armee durfte beginnen und stellte sich in ihrer ganzen Pracht auf, ich stellte nach unten hin nur den Gaukler und die Spinne auf, der Rest blieb in Reserve!

Rough Rider finished and Sentinels re-done

The Sergeant and with him the whole unit is finished:

I could finish 4 of the Riders today, the Sergeant will follow tomorrow.

Rough Riders PIP

Yesterday evening I've been busy and painted the 2 remaining horses of my Rough Riders.
They'd been lying around here for more than two years now. They were to be the first minis painted for my Defenders of Vraks but somehow I never finished them.

Now that I need them for an armylist for a tournament this Wednesday I finally grabbed and finished them:

 

Today, I want to start with the riders. Let's see how far I can get.

Chainsaw Charlie / More Brothers in Steel

I've just 2 new minis for you today.

Firstly, there is CHainsaw Charlie:

Just another Sergeant or Commander for my renegades. He might serve as a preacher with an eviscerator as well. 

And next another Iron Warrior. He just lacks some grass on his base and mud on his feet.

More Psykers

Well, the tournament's weekend has arrived and I was really busy the last few days and weeks with building and painting my city fight gaming board. Furthermore, I painted the 2 Renegade Apostate Preachers of Nurgle from Forge World because I'll play a Battle Psyker Squad of 8 men. So I use my Overseer, the 2 Psykers from Forge World, the 4 old schoold Chaos Sorcerers and the Chaos Sorcerer of Nurgle. That equals 8! And I don't even have to use the red-blue-brownish Chaos Sorcerer I hate so much.

It was a really quick and kind of dirty paint job but I think it's sufficient for the table and not that bad anyway. How do you like it?

I'll take a whole bunch of pics while I'm on the tournament and then I'll share the impressions of my gaming board with you.

Hot, hotter, Meltaguns

The last 6 Guardsmen with Meltaguns - finally finished. I thought they'd never stop demanding paint. I hope I'll never need more than 10.

I promised to post new pics of the finished 1st Battle Psyker and here they are:

Finally! The 2nd Psyker is finished and I'm really glad to post this. It was an awful paintjob and I'm not totally content with that bastard yet but that'll do for now.

He'll only be played when I set up a whole 10-man Psyker Squad. Here are the 4 new ones, already based:

Hope they'll be more fun to paint. And the 6 last Meltagun Guardsmen:

Still a lot of stuff to paint untill saturday but I'm confident.

First Battle Psyker

It was a lot of fun to paint this mini and so I finished it in nearly one go. I haven't varnished it yet, so I'm open for critique and and suggestions for improvement.

Shotgun- and Meltagun-Guardsmen

I get ahead quite good in the last days and so I could finish the 6 Shotgun- and 4 of 10 Meltagun-Guardsmen yesterday evening.

I'll paint the Chaos Sorcerer of Nurgle next for a change to all the Guardsmen painted in the passed days.

Overwhelming lasgun fire and magical powers

Hi there!
The 2 Chaos Sorcerers which I bought from an user on gw-fanworld.net arrived by today's post and immediately went into a bowl with ethyl alcohol because they're looking really bad and are very thickly covered with paint.

Furthermore, I can tick off one point on my to-do list: 2 two Guardsmen with Lasguns

 

To simplify matters I'll  add the snow on the bases when all the infantry is done
