Hey folks!
It's Christmas Eve and although I'm not very religious or rather don't believe in all this I wish you all a Merry Christmas and hope you enjoy some nice and rich meals and get lots of (hobby related) presents!
And as I'll be spending the week after the Christmas Days and thus New Year's Eve and New Year's Day in Hungary with my pals, I also wish you a Happy New Year right now!
Read you in 2012 with hopefully much more grim darkness!

Bitz and Despair
I dissembled my airbrush pistol yesterday evening to clean it after having finished the airbrush work on the Juggernauts and today I wanted to assemble it so I could start working on the Bloodletter riders.... and then it happened. Screwed slightly too strong, the jet nozzle's thread broke.
I ordered a new one today. That little crap of a jet nozzle costs ~ 10 EUR! Hope I receive it soon.
As I could not paint or even prime anything today I searched my bitz box for some nice weapons and something that could be used as a Icon of Glory Chaos as I will have to paint another 6 Terminators for a tournament in January. This is what I found:

Marked by Chaos
When I had birthday in early November my friends gave me a voucher for an extra payment for a tattoo because they knew I planned to get a tattoo for quite a while. I made an appointment with a tattoo artist some days later and yesterday it was time to get marked by the Dark Gods:

Weekend is coming
Yes, another week full of work for university, a great party and of course loads of hobby stuff comes to an end.
I'm currently working on 8 Blood Crushers for my customer and will be visiting my parents this weekend, so count on some better updates next week. ;)
And here's my latest catchy song - enjoy:

Killteam 2.0 - Part VI
A quick snapshot of the current WIP state of the humans:
What I forgot to mention: the Predator's sponsons are magnetized and the top is not glued, so I have the option to play it as Rhino or Razorback.

Predator finished
As I have no courses at university today, I used last night for painting and was able to finish the Predator.
The result after applying the pigments was somehow awkward compared to the other IW tanks I did so far. There must have been something wrong with the top color layer I airbrushed on because it stripped a little bit. Or maybe it's just because I'm out of routine as I haven't painted IW tanks for quite a while...
The Predator did not turn out that bad, though:
Some of the human scum's clothing has also already its paint.

Killteam 2.0 - Part V
With the oral presentation in my General Language Course done, here's a new update for you about my Kill Team 2.0 just as I promised.
Forge World has delivered pretty quickliy and so I could finish building the human scum for the KT; the Heavy stubber team will be built this afternoon.
The paint job on the Predator is also in an advanced state, I need to have finished it by Sunday.

New week, new stuff
I arrived back home from a visit at my parents yesterday evening and when I checked my postbox I found two nice things: a card that stated that a parcel is waiting for me at the local post office and an air couchion envelopment with the needed bitz for my next Iron Warriors tank. I instantly knew that the parcel was my new airbrush compressor and I was very delighted!
So I traipsed to the post office today and schlepped the 7kg heavy parcel home. Here's a pic of the old and new compressor:
Quite a difference, eh?
And these are the bitz for the tank (you can guess what it will be):
And a quicktip for you:
Everytime I visit the town where I used to go to school I drop in on the local Tedi store - that's a German (and Dutch?) market chain where you can buy lots of different stuff from 1 to 3 EUR. I always buy there some packs of super glue. That's 5 tubes à 2g for 1 EUR. They work pretty well and are very abundant. So there's no need to buy those branded and expensive stuff.

Even more Iron Warriors...
This week's last update: a handful of Iron Warriors, including one flamer and one plasmagun which gives me a total of 2 for each special weapon.
I also played three games yesterday evening at our club's monthly meeting. I won two times against Tau and Dark Angels and suffered one defeat against Tau. We played 850 pts. to test our army lists for next week Sunday's tournament i mentioned before here.

Killteam 2.0
The next Kill Team tournament will take place in mid December: Adeptus Illuminatus IX
I have to confess that I nearly bought some Necrons to build a Kill Team and I even painted a test mini. But then I remembered playing my Iron Warriors for the first time on the last KT tournament and bethought me of staying loyal to Chaos. ;-)
I'll have some cannonfodder... er... excuse me, human reinforcements in the KT as I'll be using the Renegades and Heretics army list from Imperial Armour 5. And they bring along some ramshackle armour: a Chimera!

Grand Iron Warriors gallery update
Hey guys!
I spent this forenoon taking new photos of all my Iron Warriors models painted so far in order to have pics of them with a homogenous background. Here you are, enjoy (caution, pic-heavy!):

New CC arm for the Dreadnought
Here's the next mini-update for you guys: a new arm for the Dreadnought
I hoped I could purchase a right CC arm of the Furioso Dreadnought kit and I'd have converted it in order to fit to the other CC arm I previously built. But they are mostly sold for more than 10 EUR on ebay. I won't pay through the nose when I can buy an appropriate one at FW's for less.
I'll play the Dreadnought with the weapons shown above on the 850 pts. tournament I'm going to organize on December 4th: 4. Battlepatrol Ratisbona
I already had two test games with my army list against a mate who's going to play my Defenders of Vraks - and I won both, 1x 6:0 and 1x 4:2. I'm quite content.

Last Sunday's tournament
I attended another tournament with my Iron Warriors last Sunday playing Codex Space Wolves. The codex offers lots of opportunities and I'm really content with it. And as long as I don't play 3x Long Fangs with loads of missile launchers, Thunderwolf Cavalry and all the other uber units I guess no one will complain about that.
Here some pics of the stuff I painted for the tournament: 3 Warriors with boltguns and a banner plus 3 magnetized Terminator arms
And a summary of the 4 games:
1st match vs. Tyranids: Defeat (15:5)
2nd match vs. Tau: Victory (17:3)
3rd match vs. Blood Angels: Defeat (2:18) [Mephiston sucks so hard...]
4th match vs. Space Wolves: Victory (14:6)
Total of 38 tournament pts. and a 14th place out of 26. Way better than the previous results I achieved using the codex SM. ;-)

Magnetizing my Terminators
University already needs a lot of attention and I hardly found the time to do any hobby stuff the last two weeks. But this afternoon I started to magnetize my Terminators in order to have more options available without the necessity to build and paint more models. So here we go with the first two:

The Plague Host grows
Unfortunatly, term has started on monday and I nearly had no time at all for the hobby this week.
I was able to build 3 famous characters of the Plague Host. With Mraduk, Champion of Nurgle they are now four.

Some more Iron Warriors
I gathered up my last CSM bitz box resources and built these 6 pals. Another 3 of the formerly planned 8 men strong Assault Squad will follow.
But before I can paint them I need to order some IW shoulder pads. And I hope a mate of mine has some spare Plasma gun for the guy without a weapon.

Skulltaker
The next model I painted for the customer was Skulltaker himself. He'll get some static grass on his base as soon as the customer gives his o.k. for the paint job and when I varnished him.
I hope the pics are large enough for you guys.

Warsmith Fabrilis WIP
It's finally time to grant the infamous Warsmith Fabrilis a model of his own. The times are finally over where Magus Tenebrae had to take the rap for everything.
As things are now:
I also reconsidered some things in terms of gaming with my Iron Warriors, especially after all the checks received lately. I will use the Codex Space Wolves for some time now fpr my IW.

Sturmfront 3 - Tournament report
As I'm too tired at the moment to translate the report into English, I'll simply copy and paste it:
1. Spiel:
Gegner: Christian "Ammi" Ammersbach
Armee: Space Wolves
Mission: Capture and Control
Aufstellung: Dawn of War
=> Ergebnis: 5:15
2. Spiel:
Gegner: Christian "Doggs" Bauer
Armee: Chaos Space Marines
Mission: Annihilation
Aufstellung: Spearhead
=> Ergebnis: 5:15
3. Spiel:
Gegner: Flo "corvin" Xxx
Armee: Grey Knights *kotzwürgbrechhass*
Mission: Seize Ground (5)
Aufstellung: Pitched Battle
Tja, was soll man sagen?
=> Ergebnis: 3:17
Mal Best Painted.
Bin vorhin wieder in meiner Studentenbude in Regensburg angekommen.
