Display base mostly finished

Here's the army on its display base:

The base still lacks some MiniNatur grass, the frame will be painted in chevrons and at the front a tag will adorn it, reading:

Terra Torn Asunder
The 4th Grand Company

Vanguard Veterans finished

Painting while watching TV is quite enjoyable, so I made a last-ditch effort and finished the Vanguard Veteran squad:

The pic is quite bad and I'll have to re-do them a little bit as soon as I'm back in my flat in Regensburg when the term starts later in October, but they should be good enough for the tournament.

Tomorrow I'll finish the display base for the army.

Ruins finished

The 7 ruins for the tournament are finished save some propaganda posters and more plants. I'm really productive at the moment after my low in those last hot summer weeks.

Until sunday evening I want to have the 5 Vanguard Veterans ready for the tournament on monday and I'm currently up to something else for the Iron Warriors. Stay tuned and excited!

Vanguard Veterans WIP II

I received the jump packs yesterday, here some impressions of those cool bitz:

Bunkers finished

The bunkers are ready to be used:

Vanguard Veterans WIP

As I've only painted minis worth 1,850 pts. so far I had to think about the choice of unit(s) for the next step to 2,000 pts. And with the 3rd Sturmfront on October 3rd drawing nearer and nearer, I decided to take a squad of 5 Vanguard Veterans.

As there are only a few models to paint due to their costs and their expensive equipment, they make up a perfect choice for me because I've not that much time right now for painting IW unfortunately (there are other more important projects at the moment, e.g. tournament terrain, a display base, Chaos Daemons etc.).

I even built a melta bomb myself because I have no SM bitz box here at my parents' house.

Now I must hope to receive the jump packs until saturday and paint the 5 minis and I'm ready for the 2,000 pts. battles on Monday.

The next bunch of ruins

Yesterday evening I finished building and glueing another bunch of terrain for our tournament: some ruins

I deliberately built them rambling for more opportunities to hide from line of sight etc.
