Blood Letters - Step by Step IV

Step VIII:

Paint the swords, tongues, the banner and all other kinds of equipment Chaos Black:

Step IX:

Now highlight the edges of the swords with Adeptus Battlegrey and Codex Grey. I painted a thin line of Codex Grey along the middle of the blades afterwards.

The banner was highlighted with a mix of Chaos Black and Adeptus Battlegrey, adding more and more of the latter. The upper sides of the tongues were painted with Adeptus Battlegrey and then washed with Badab Black.

Step X:

The swords' guards were firt painted with Tin Bitz and was then highlighted with Brassy Brass (VGC). Then some Gryphonne Sepia was applied over these areas to take away the gloss of the metallic colours. The same was done with the Instrument of Chaos and the banner decoration, as well as the trimming of the few horns. The banner pole was painted Boltgun Metal and washed with Badab Black.
